Description
Four years ago I went into darkness, and slowly found my way back to light. Photography helped, but love made it happen.
When we went with ~LunedeSable to take this photograph, in the North of the Scottish Highlands, I fell in one of the small rivers leading to this larger one. As it was -15 C degrees, my camera froze and was permanently damaged. Myself I barely had the time to run back to the car, as plates of ice were forming all over my body...
So I changed clothes, ate breakfast, bought a new camera (a unique chance to move from the 40D to the 50D!) and went back to get the photograph. Because I was reborn to light, I will never give up on it.

It's a plain fact that what I know about photography, is what I know about brain surgery, so in a sense my palate is canine in range, when it comes to this medium. I, in all honesty have no idea what nuances make a photograph great; what techniques achieve this or what not, but I do know this picture evokes profound emotions when my eyes are set on it. For some reason I can't put my finger on, your work has a pleasing quality that draws me to it, like a moth to a flame, and I can't help but wonder if my ignorance has to do with it. But in the end, I don't have to justify my predilection, because I know that art and love have a great deal in common.
